RUFODE recognizes the importance of advocacy in the work of human defenders in Uganda. Advocacy provide the HRDs and stakeholders with an opportunity to cooperate with and educate each other, report on their experiences, share relevant information, show solidarity as they come together to advocate for positive change. It is through such cooperation and coordination amongst the HRDs that a critical mass is developed to effectively advocate for the promotion, protection and realization of human rights and fundamental freedoms, not only of the HRDs but also the people they work for.
Through collective and bold action, we help families and children grow up healthy and strong. Progress against hunger and malnutrition is possible, but it requires a concerted effort by all stakeholders – government, private sector, civil society and humanitarian agencies – to turn the tide. Advocacy for increased resources, improved policies and better accountability is vital to create the change that is needed.

Capacity Building
The major focus of capacity building is to be the software to change attitudes and behaviors of the players in the food system in order to take cautious actions regarding food and its utilization. In addition, RUFODE may also support hardware in terms of technology and material where need arises.
RUFODE also emphasizes sustainable agriculture,” we mean the ability to produce safe, healthy, delicious, and affordable food to meet diverse needs without degrading agricultural lands, the quality of life in rural communities, or the resilience of the broader ecosystems on which we all depend.
AGROECOLOGY INITIATIVES
The objective of the programme is to increase the sustainability of food systems in Uganda. RUFODE promotes the application and development of sustainable agricultural cultivation methods according to agroecology principles.
The current Climate change and food crisis, needs successful transformation towards sustainable food systems. We need to align the way we produce and consume food with agroecological principles.
RUFODE projects focus on developing new solutions to current problems, disseminating these approaches to farmers, to create suitable framework conditions for sustainable agriculture.
RUFODE’S contribution to ensuring that the people in our projects can sustainably improve their living conditions through ecological methods, by mobilizing food producers and processors, organic input suppliers, marketing platforms or restaurants, and other key system innovators for a transformation of our food systems.
